Paragraph 1 & 2: The Role and Qualities of Teachers
Teachers are considered an integral part of society. Through their efforts, the next generation is taught the skills needed to succeed in this world. Teachers are often considered the second parents of children… Because this profession is essential, it is equally important to hire the right kinds of teachers. In the primary levels, good teachers are expected to be patient, caring, encouraging, and even fun. Since primary pupils are very young, the proper attitude towards learning has not been developed yet. Therefore, primary teachers work extra hard to spark their learners’ curiosity and love for learning.
Paragraph 3: Teaching Older Students
Even in the secondary and tertiary levels, teachers that motivate their students daily are highly appreciated. But since teens are more mature, the burden is often on students to stay focused on their lessons and give due importance to their assignments and projects. One other trait older students consider valuable is the ability of their teachers to advise them on important matters in life—be these about academics, career, or even relationships. As earlier mentioned, since many view teachers as second parents, troubled and confused teens sometimes consider the advice of their teachers to help overcome personal problems.
Paragraph 4: The Challenges of the Profession
Despite their importance to society, teachers do not live a charmed life, which is why not everyone dreams of becoming a teacher. Students can be quite stubborn and disrespectful, making it a burden to go to class every day. Aside from teaching in school, teachers often bring their work home—checking papers, creating exams, and preparing future lessons… In some societies, their salary is not equivalent to their worth. Thus, some teachers shift careers due to financial pressures from the family. Moreover, teachers are often required to further their learning… However, post-graduate studies and attending seminars can be both time-consuming and mentally draining, causing some teachers to question their commitment to their profession.
Paragraph 5: Solutions and Future Outlook
Thankfully, some societies have recognized these difficulties and are working towards solutions. Many school administrators have become proactive in providing better remuneration and benefits since they do not want to see their best professors heading elsewhere to teach or dropping out of the teaching profession to join the corporate world. Hopefully, these initiatives will turn out well so that the good, dedicated teachers will continue inspiring and moulding their pupils.
